Our visit to Walt Disney World was a kind of a 'taster' for us. We had just been there in May 2001 and done all of the parks fairly intensively so our goal for this trip was to hit the highlights and maybe do some of the things we usually didn't. We had booked the land-and-sea because we weren't sure if we would like cruising and didn't want to commit to seven days on the sea.
We started off our day at Donald's Breakfastasaurus, which gained us early entry into Disney's Animal Kingdom. We filled ourselves on the buffet breakfast and hung out with Mickey, Donald and Goofy. We then hit the highlights of AK, including the Kilimanjaro Safaris, Festival of the Lion King and DINOSAUR.
Animal Kingdom being a half-day park at best, we headed over to Disney Studios around lunch time to get in some thrill rides and take in some of the shows, including Beauty and the Beast and the Hunchback of Notre Dame puppet show. We got to see the Sorcerer's Hat in front of the Chinese Theater for the first time as it was under construction when we had been there in May. We quickly christened it the "BAH" (Big-Assed Hat). When combined with Mickey's hand and wand over the globe at Epcot, we were a little concerned they had dismembered Mickey and spread him throughout the parks. We stayed through the 100 Years of Magic "Stars and Motor Cars" parade at the Studios.
After a few more rides, we caught a bus over to the TTC because we had dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's. We ate more wonderful food and hung out with Mickey and the gang for awhile then went over to Magic Kingdom for a little shopping before returning to the Swan for the night.
