Janie continued to show off her cake decorating skills, making cakes for her birthday and Rebecca's.

Alex's baseball career ended after taking a hard shot to his cheek while batting. He sat our for awhile with concussion concerns and didn't want to play again, switching to soccer instead.

J. R. spent a good portion of the summer commuting to Tokyo working with Japanese operator KDDI on a new switch project for Motorola.
