Rebecca made herself her own birthday cake for her 12th birthday, choosing a Monster High theme, complete with piped decoration.
Rebecca tried her hand at rock climbing at Lifetime Fitness, making it nearly all the way to the top of the rock wall.
Over Spring Break, we visited our alma mater, Georgia Tech, with Thomas. He would late choose Tech as his home for the next four (or five) years while pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering.
Thomas successfully tested for his third degree black belt in ATA Tae Kwon Do.
Thomas put on a salmon bow tie and tuxedo and went to Neuqua's prom with his girlfriend Hannah.
On the day after prom, Thomas and his friends went to the zoo.
Rebecca and her trombone joined her Gregory Middle School band classmates at the annual Memorial Day parade in Naperville.
As hard as it is to believe, our little boy Thomas was graduating from Neuqua Valley High School.
Rebecca played another season for the Galaxy Soccer Club and Coach Mark, primarily playing right back. She scored a goal on Mother's Day for her mom on a corner kick but she was not promoted to the next level club and when Coach Mark did not return to coaching, she decided to leave the club.
Rebecca practiced her swimming skills at the Black and Gold Swim Camp at Purdue University in June.
J. R. coached Rebecca and her friends from the subdivision in a 3v3 soccer tournament in Glenview. The team was in second place when the rains came down and the rest of the tournament was cancelled but the "Ragic" had fun playing together for the first time in a long time.
We joined the McRaes again for the annual Bolingbrook Fourth of July celebration at the Bolingbrook Golf Club.
We visited the zoo on the day after Independence Day after seeing Thomas' pictures from post-prom.
Rebecca rejoined some of her U8 teammates and some girls she didn't know on the Bolingbrook Raiders soccer team. Coached by our friend Julie, the Raiders finished second in a pair of tournaments and in their division.
Rebecca played fall water polo for West Suburban.
