January meant the annual trip to Indianapolis for the Circle City Classic where Rebecca and her Fox Swim teammates once again took home the meet championship.
For her birthday, Rebecca invited a few close friends over for Lou Malnati's pizza, cookie cake and movies.
Before Alex returned to work and Thomas went back to school, J. R. took them golfing at Top Golf in Naperville, an indoor/outdoor driving range. None of them are good golfers, but they had fun before lunch at the Foundry. Janie and Rebecca got their shot at Top Golf later in the year.
Since it is not often you get to say you saw the "World Champion Chicago Cubs" play baseball, Alex and J. R. took in an early season game before Alex returned to work.
We went to Naperville Ribfest on the Friday before the 4th of July to hang out, eat ribs, and watch Drew Baldridge, Curt Ford and Toby Keith entertain the audience. The concert was fun, although very crowded.
Rebecca had to work for most of the 4th of July, but she got off around 7PM, so we drove over to the Bolingbrook golf club for our traditional fireworks evening with Tracey and Marc. Rebecca's best friends from the neighborhood were there, so they all hung together while the adults sat, talked and drank.
Rebecca had been wanting to go to the Sugar Factory for a long time, so with a shopping excursion near the airport planned, J. R. made reservations. Rebecca loved the dry ice drink and Janie enjoyed her martini.
With Rebecca at work, Janie and J. R. went to Brookfield Zoo for the day, where Janie was entertained by the dragons and dinosaurs exhibit.
