In mid-May, it was finally time for our move. After a weekend finishing packing, the movers arrived on Wednesday to load everything into the truck. We cleaned up the house and had one more load for the junk crew and the trash people to pick up. We realized Thursday morning as we were waiting for the junk crew that we had left a box of Mickey Mouse ice cream bars in the freezer. So we each had one of those. Ashley came over to say goodbye to Becca and Tracey joined her as we were loading the trash and packing up to leave.
As we left Bolingbrook, we were delayed on I-355 and as we drove by, we discovered it was because a private plane had crashed on the highway. Thankfully no one was injured. We drove to Indianapolis and found the Old Spaghetti Factory was not open yet. We went downtown and parked at the mall and waited for the downtown location to open. As we had been talking to Thomas and Janie's dad about the gas shortage caused by the pipeline being shut down, J. R. decided to book a flight from Atlanta to Orlando to allow him to get to the house to meet the movers and then Janie could stay at her dad's for a night or more in case she could not find gas.
We arrived in the Atlanta area mid afteroon and made a quick pitstop at The Varsity to get Becca a Frosted Orange and we had some onion rings. We went to our hotel in Midtown and Thomas arrived a few minutes later. The family went out to dinner before we turned in for the night. Janie dropped J. R. off at the airport the next morning and headed to Peachtree City to spend some time with her dad.
J. R.'s flight made it to Orlando on Saturday afternoon and got an Uber to our Clermont rental house. Janie and Rebecca arrived late Sunday and our furniture was delivered Monday morning.
