Islands of Adventure

Since Disney was not yet offering Florida annual passes, we decided to get premium APs for Universal instead. We got to Universal early on a Sunday but thanks to poor signage and directions, we wasted time in the wrong line to pick up our passes. But once in the park, we rode the Harry Potter ride and caught the Hogwarts Express to Islands of Adventure. J. R. saw that the Velocicoaster was open and running, even though it was not scheduled to open officially for several days. We got in the hot line and waiting longer than we should have as the ride kept breaking down but eventually we rode it. The girls loved it. J. R., not so much. We rode Spider-Man and then the ladies headed to Hulk and Free Fall while J. R. stopped for some Starbucks. We had lunch at Mythos, which was good as usual, but we had a problem with the waitress not running our card and then we had to go back to pay. We explored the rest of the park, skipping the water rides and then used our "Express Pass after 4PM" feature to get into Harry Potter and some of the other busy rides.

Cowfish

Becca had been bummed the pandemic claimed her favorite pseudo-sushi place in Birmingham, Cowfish, so now that we are Orlando residents, we had to head over to City Walk to get her some mango sushi.

Universal Studios

We took advantage of the Express Pass feature of our annual passes and headed over to Universal Studios. We explored some of the shops in Diagon Alley before starting our express rides with Men In Black Alien Attack. We circled around the park, going to Transformers, Mummy, Fast & Furious, Escape from Gringotts, and ending up with Shrek and Minions. We also stood in line for some more frozen butterbeer.

Universal in July

Becca wanted one more trip to Universal (and Cowfish) so we booked a reservation and headed over. We stopped a Voodoo Doughnuts for some treats before Cowfish and then used our Express Passes at IoA and Universal
