Sailing In To Castaway Cay

Our final day on the Magic saw us docking at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. We stood on the balcony of the parental verandah to watch the ship dock and wait for the all-clear to go ashore.

Once on the island, we checked Rebecca into the kids' club on shore while the boys did the teen Wild Side excursion, which meant J. R. and Janie were able to head to the adult side of the island to relax with a Konk Kooler and some sun. This was our first trip to the adult side of the island and it was very relaxing.

We met up with the boys and pulled Rebecca out of the kids' area so we could eat a family lunch at Cookie's BBQ on the island, then we found some loungers and let the kids play in the water together.

Remember The Magic

The evening Remember the Magic show featured an encore by Ricky Kalmon and a performance by Michael Harrison, a comedy ventriloquist. Dining tonight was back in Lumiere's but Janie and J. R. had a reservation at Palo for an adult dinner. So we got Rebecca some food from the deck and sent her to the kids' club while Alex and Thomas enjoyed a grown-up dinner in main dining. After Palo, it was time to change and finish putting out the luggage and then the adults went to Pub Night, something they had enjoyed on a previous cruise. This one wasn't as funny, maybe because it was the same skits and jokes.

Off the Magic and Back to Chicago

It was our last day on the Magic and we had packed up all our suitcases the night before so they could be taken to the airport for our flight to Chicago. Leaving the Magic is always difficult but Disney makes it easy by rushing you through breakfast so you want to leave as fast as you can. We said goodbye to our servers, walked off the ship and headed to the airport.
