Disneyland Park

Shortly before our trip began, J. R. made the decision to switch us from our off-site suite hotel to the on-site Paradise Pier hotel and it turned out to be a great decision. The hotel was located near Downtown Disney and the Grand California, which made it a perfect place for our first night, where J. R. and Janie had reservations for Napa Rose while the kids headed to the hotel restaurant for dinner. Napa Rose was wonderful. After a couple of drinks at the bar, the meal was perfectly cooked and extremely enjoyable.

Thanks to being on-site, we recieved early entry to Disneyland on our first morning, which meant three quick runs through Space Mountain as well as one through the Matterhorn before any real crowds arrived.

California Adventure

The next morning early entry was for California Adventure, so we headed straight to the very popular Radiator Springs racers, then California Screaming before doubling back to pick up Fastpasses to ride the Racers later on in the day. All told over our five days at Disneyland, we rode the Racers six times with little waiting, which is pretty good considering the ride has over 2 hour wait times most of the day.

Goofy's Kitchen

We had our traditional Disneyland meal at Goofy's Kitchen, where Alex was pleased to see peanut butter and jelly pizza on the menu, after it had been removed at Chef Mickey's in Florida. Following that, it was back to the parks for more Disney fun.

Disneyland Again

Our final day was a partial day since we had a late flight home to Chicago so we spent it hitting some favorite rides again and also spending some time in Innoventions and seeing some shows.
