Easter Morning

We awoke Easter morning for our last full night on the Majesty of the Seas with a trip to the buffet, where they had Easter candy for the kids (and adults). Later in the day, they had the Easter bunny in the atrium for the kids, serving cake and handing out candy.

CocoCay

After lunch, it was time to head ashore to Royal Caribbean's private island, CocoCay. On RCCL, currently guests must board a tender boat to get ashore, so we headed down to deck one where there was a boat waiting for us. We climbed on board and soon found ourselves docking at the island. We passed the new pier RCCL is currently building so in the future guests will not need to tender. J. R. had booked one of RCCL's beach loungers on the South Beach side of the island, so we checked in and got a golf cart ride over to the loungers. We were the first ones there and so had our pick of loungers right on the beach overlooking the ocean. We settled in to relax, hoping to get a drink or two, but the bars were not open on this part of the island yet. So J. R. took a walk back to the main area to get one of RCCL's signature frozen cocktails to bide our time until the bar opened. We would have a few more of those before the day was over. We walked back to the main area to get lunch, which was pretty good. Barbecued chicken, burgers and fruit were on the menu. We took the golf cart back to the beach loungers and hung out until after noon when the sun was high enough in the sky that the lounger did not provide much shade, so we decided to go back to the ship. Along the way, though, we found a hammock in the sand and decided to climb in and soak in a little bit more sun.

Last Night on the Majesty

We ate our last meal in the dining room with our tablemates and talked about our experiences on board the ship. We decided to check out the final variety show, which featured the RCCL singers and dancers. The show was okay but we still missed the Disney-style entertainment. We gave the bar on the top deck another chance and finally tracked down a bartender and got a drink. Then we headed to our favorite bar, Boleros and got a few more final drinks before calling it a night. Tomorrow, we would leave the ship and catch a shuttle back to the airport and return home to chilly Chicago.
