We loaded up the car in the early morning and got on the road towards Indianapolis, where we had a planned stop at an old favorite, the Old Spaghetti Factory. On the way down, we learned there was a second location in Indy, on the ring road, so we redirected there. This turned out to be a mistake as the interchange we needed was closed, which foreshadowed a lot of road construction issues we would encounter. But eventually we made it to the OSF and enjoyed our mizithra cheese spaghetti and spumoni ice cream.
After spaghetti, we climbed back into the car and drove down to Bloomington, where we would be staying the night. We checked into our hotel and then found a local Outback Steakhouse for our evening meal. The next morning, we awoke and took a tour of Indiana University. We were not impressed by either the information session or the tour. The info session was a contrived back and forth with a student, but it was so scripted that it sounded fake. Our tour guide was doing her fifth tour but Rebecca commented she wondered if the young lady even went to the school because she seemed to know so little. Following the tour, we set off on our way to Nashville, stopping along the way at a barbeque place called Bandanas in Evansville. The BBQ was very good.
