Key West

Having just been to Key West in December, as well as the previous September, we chose to stay onboard the ship, despite the call of key lime pie. We attended trivia with Vishy in the morning, where we tied for first place and won a Pop Socket during Tri-Bond trivia (which we also won) for getting the 'links' question correct. We had a chance to chat with him in the hall after the trivia about ship life and his time on board.

Relaxing and Imbibing

We took advantage of the mostly-empty Solarium to relax by the windows and had a few pool drinks. We had a scotch and wine at Cellar Masters and opened up the Martini Bar. We had been a little bummed the day before because they changed the menu to be the same as on the Edge class, taking away favorites like the Cherry Lane, Sunset and Decadence Express martinis, but we found plenty to enjoy here and Leo and his team remained top-notch, despite being very busy.

Life

The evening show was "Life", which we had seen in December. We were excited to see almost all of the main cast from that cruise were still singing and dancing on this one because they are incredibly talented. We love the Celebrity shows so much better than Disney or other cruise lines' attempts at "Broadway-style" entertainment. The shows here are original and showcase modern music and the entertainers have incredible energy.

Dinner and Full Moon Party

Dinner service continued to be an issue. We went up to the line marked "Guests with Reservations" and the same hostess J. R. had issues with the day before told us we had to wait in the long line for "Guests without Reservations" which was filled with Tampa Bay Bucs cruise guests who were supposed to be upstairs. When we got to the front of the line, we saw the original hostess seating people with reservations who came up to her so she had singled us out. Then we had to wait for someone to take us to the table, which was the same one as yesterday, so if the hostess had just told us we were back on 8:30 dining, aggravation could have been saved all around.

Service did not improve. Indri, our main server, brought us our bread and said she would come back to take our order. The sommelier came by, asked Janie if she wanted any wine and then left without asking J. R.. When Indri came back, we mentioned this and she apologized but by the time the sommelier returned with Janie's wine, we had finished our appetizers so getting a cocktail then was pointless. Indri contacted the maitre'd, who came over and apologized and offered us lunch the next day at Tuscan Grill. We feel Celebrity was understaffed with the Bucs cruise and it showed.

We enjoyed an after-dinner cocktail since we didn't get one at dinner and then went up to the Full Moon Party. J. R. got a broken light-up shaker but caught a working one for Janie. We danced until the end of the party and then got some sodas and headed for bed.
