To Fort Lauderdale and the Celebrity Eclipse

We decided to drive down the day before our cruise rather than fight Fort Lauderdale traffic which gave us a chance to stop at Naked Taco, a Mexican place we like in Coconut Creek.

After a stay at a Holiday Inn, we drove to the port, dropped off our luggage and waited to board the Eclipse. Once onboard, we went up to the buffet for lunch, then down to our muster station to check in.

Martini Bar

We stopped at the martini bar next for our first martinis of the week.

Martini Bar

We had been on the Eclipse for our 18 night transpacific cruise so we knew the ship pretty well. We went to our room and found our luggage in the hallway along the way, which gave us a chance to unpack early. We then went down the concierge desk to get our elite paperwork which was missing from our room and RSVP for several of the events.

Hot Glass Sailaway

On the transpacific, we had each made a glass object at the hot glass seminar. The Hot Glass team was doing a demonstration at sailaway so went to watch as they made a large glass fish. Heather, who had helped J. R. make his paperweight on our last cruise on the Eclipse, was still there and led the demonstration.

Sunset

We took a stroll along deck 5 as the sun was setting to take advantage of the nice weather.

Evening Show

The evening show in the theater was comedian Darrell Joyce. He was reasonably funny, especially his bit about how there should be a trapdoor for people who cannot follow rules, like the people who cannot remember to take their phones out of their pockets at the airport despite being told multiple times.

Dinner

Dinner tonight was in the Moonlight Sonata dining room. We were seated at a table for eight with two ladies. J. R. got his escargot and taunted Rebecca with it via text, along with showing her the sugar bowl she loves.
