Hi, all. It's me, Rebecca, again, ready to write about Day 5 of my first trip to WDW. Sorry about not writing yesterday, but things got busy around the house and Daddy wouldn't let me near the computer.
So, on Day 5, we (or at least me) got up early. I woke Mommy up because I really don't like this portable crib and would rather sleep with her. Daddy grumbled the same thing as he moved to the sofa bed from the double bed to make room for me. We had another CB planned, at Cafe May today. I think Daddy comes to WDW for the food.
We drove to the Beach Club, where Mommy really wants to stay. She said they were supposed to be staying here for a cruise last December, but because of me they had to move the cruise to November and got stuck at the Swan instead, which they didn't like so much. The guy at the gate checked our name off the list and let us go through to park. He didn't give us a 3-hour pass or check our license number, so I guess those people who like to cheat parking could get away with it here.
The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived, which was great, because I got to spend a lot of time with the characters. Chip was the best. He came over and pulled up a chair and sat down next to me and played with me for awhile. He came back to the table at least 5 or 6 times to talk to me. (Yes, I know he doesn't "talk", but neither do I. Babies survive on non-verbal communication). He even tried to put my pacifier into my mouth, which made Mommy laugh, seeing him try to do it with those big furry paws. We also saw Goofy and Minnie Mouse and got our pictures taken with them, too. Dale wasn't as funny as Chip, but he still spent a lot more time at our table then usual.
The food was very good, with a lot of choices. Daddy made Alex get a plate of eggs before he could get any donuts, but then he had 2 or 3. Thomas started getting sick though at the end of the buffet, and then Daddy said he was feeling well either. I don't think it had anything to do with the food, unless maybe it was the PH food from the other night.
We walked around the hotel after dinner because Mommy wanted to show the boys the pool. They were really impressed and now they want to stay here too. Daddy's going to have to work overtime, I guess.
We got in our car and went to the Studios. We decided to skip the tram and walk to the park because they parked our car on the far end of the lot away from the tram, so the walk from the car to the tram was about as long as the walk to the park. The security check was a breeze and we headed into the park.
Thomas wanted to go to the playground area. Daddy said he would take us back there while Mommy and Alex rode RnRC, since Daddy didn't want to ride it right after breakfast. So we split up. Daddy, Thomas and I walked all the way to the back of the park through NY to the HISTKPA. Thomas kept looking around for cars to come out at him because he heard all the car sounds, but by the end, he figured out they were fake. He spotted Stitch on the Empire State Bldg. Daddy said he was disappointed in this -- he was expecting a 3D effect, not some sign on the side of the building.
When we got to HISTK, Daddy realized it didn't open for another hour! Daddy promised Thomas we'd come back and we agreed to walk back to RnRC. Daddy stopped at Little Mermaid and got FPs for that and then we surprised Mommy in the exit for RnRC. We waited in the gift shop, and as Mommy and Alex walked by, Daddy pushed my stroller right up next to Mommy and bumped her. She turned and realized it was me! She told Daddy he was lucky she didn't turn around and hit him for bumping her, but Daddy said that would just make him feel at home. They laughed and we headed back towards NYC again, since it was almost 10 and our FPs for Mermaid were for 10:40.
Mommy fed me while the boys played in Honey, I Shrunk The Kids Play Area. Frankly, it looks more like the blew up the stuff around the kids, because the boys looked to be the same height they always were. Daddy went and fetched the boys at 10:30. He found Thomas quickly because he was standing in the middle of the play area calling his brother's name because he wanted to show him something. Daddy joined in and eventually Alex came over.
We went to see Little Mermaid on our FPs. We sat near the front and didn't realize that meant we'd be getting wet! Daddy put his baseball cap over my head because the water spray was bugging me. The show was fun. We had just watched this movie at home before we left. I liked the laser lights the best. At the end, Ariel turns into a real girl. Daddy and Mommy looked at each other when this happened, because the last time they had seen this show in November, at the end, Ariel was still sitting on the rock. They had commented then how that was pretty cheesy to not have her actually turn into a girl. Now they realize something must have been broken in the previous show.
I needed to be changed, so Mommy said she was going to do a little shopping and go to Baby Care while Daddy and the boys rode the Great Movie Ride. But when they got to GMR, it was closed, so they went to find Mommy. Daddy spotted her in one of the stores and followed her through the store and caught up to her crossing the street. We went to Baby Care and I got cleaned up and then we decided to head to the back of the park. On the way, we stopped at the dining booth to make reservations for lunch. We chose the Sci-Fi Diner this time.
GMR was open now, so we rode it. The line was longer than usual, Daddy said, maybe because it had been closed. We got to sit in the front row, which was good. Our tour guide wasn't as good as usual, Mommy said -- he didn't seem to be into the show much. The gangster guy was funny, but I got scared when all the bullets started shooting over my head. I didn't think I'd get caught in a drive-by at Disney World! (And can you imagine a street gang all wearing mouse ears?)
After GMR, we decided to see a show. Hunchback was starting, so we went there. We missed the pre-show, which disappointed Mommy and Daddy because they really like it, but we got to see the very end when the guy was throwing brooms up in the air and catching them. He was really good and even balanced a broom on his chin. I'll have to try that myself someday Hunchback was fun with all the puppets and the music and I sat up and watched the whole show. It took us awhile to get out of the show and get to our stroller and then we headed over to see the Muppets.
The line for Muppets was long, but the FP return was right during lunch, so we stood in line. The line moved really fast and we got into the very next show. This is another one of those movies where everybody wears goofy glasses, not just Daddy. I fell asleep, so I can't tell you much about it. Sorry, but a baby has to nap sometimes.
We went to Sci-Fi for lunch. Thomas was upset because he had to sit in a car with a table instead of a regular car because they had only made our reservation for four (Mommy had told them five) and there wasn't room in the car for my car seat and all they had were those high chairs for big kids, again. Like I said before, the restaurants here don't seem to think about babies coming! Mommy and Daddy didn't like the food very much. Daddy only ate half his prime rib sandwich and said it wasn't very good. The kids had milkshakes, which they liked, and we spent over an hour-and-a-half in here. Yes, service was that slow, but at least the movies were funny.
We left the Studios after that and headed to Blizzard Beach for the afternoon. (I have to apologize here -- I mixed up the names of the water parks yesterday. We went to Typhoon Lagoon yesterday -- the one with the wave pool -- which is the one the boys like best. Today, we went to BB, the one with the family raft ride they like. Sorry for the confusion, but I am just a baby!)
Daddy took the boys on the family raft ride then sat with me the rest of the day and read his book while I napped. Mommy and the boys played in the water and did some slides. We left at closing, then went to dinner at Pebbles in the Crossroads shopping center. This was a good meal, Mommy and Daddy said. We went for a drive over on 194 for awhile. Daddy spotted the Hot Donuts Now sign and Mommy veered in for some Krispy Kremes, which would be breakfast tomorrow. We went back to the hotel, had a donut and went to bed.
