Following the HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge, we walked over to the Tower of London to see the tour. We had been looking forward to seeing the infamous castle and prison. We started off with a guided tour led by a Yeoman Warder, known more popularly as a "Beefeater". The Warders live in the Tower grounds and safeguard the Crown Jewels. When our guide asked us where we were from and we told him "America" he reminded us "that all of this could have been ours, if we had only paid our taxes". Our beefeater led us around the castle grounds, telling us stories of the White Tower and showing us the ravens, who legend say that should they ever leave the grounds would mean the end of the British monarchy.
After touring the castle grounds, we visited the museums with suits of armor, including from Henry the VIII, along with other war memoribilia.
Following our guided tour and the museums, we walked around the grounds some more on our own and then went to Wagamama for dinner.
