After checking out of Coronado Springs, we began the final part of our multi-state journey, which was picking up Rebecca after her freshman year at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. We drove to Orlando airport and after a quick breakfast at Another Broken Yolk, we dropped Janie's car off at FastPark and caught a flight to Birmingham. Becca met us at the airport and drove us to Tuscaloosa where we had dinner at Baumhower's and checked into our hotel.
The next morning, J. R. helped Rebecca get the rest of her stuff out of Ridgecrest and we started our drive to Florida, arriving late in the day. Janie dropped J. R. off at FastPark, and after he was scolded by the agent for trying to walk 500 ft. to the car and waiting for a bus, he picked up Janie's car and started the drive to Clermont. In a scene out of Emperor's New Groove, somehow he managed to pass Janie on Rte. 192 despite her having a good 20 minute headstart.
After a night in our Clermont house, we flew back to O'Hare for the last time and caught an Uber back to our Bolingbrook home, where we would finish our packing for our move in May.
