Sunday saw us pulling into port in Maui, where we had an excursion planned to the Haleakala crater. After breakfast at the buffet, we walked downstairs and off the ship to wait for a bus for our excursion.
We waited for a bus outside the port terminal which we would take to Haleakala. Our driver was extremely engaging, filling us with stories of the island, pointing out stars' homes (including Oprah and Tom Selleck) and explaining why you should bike ride down Haleakala on the last day of your vacation (so when you fall and suffer massive injuries, you don't ruin your entire trip).
When we got back to the terminal, we decided to do more sight-seeing, so J. R. called Avis and arranged a rental car. Their shuttle came over to the port and picked us up and we were on our way to see more of the sights of Maui, after a quick stop at K-Mart to buy Rebecca some new shoes, as her soles had come unattached, and at Krispy Kreme for some donuts. We found a local McDonald's on our way up to I'o and had a quick bite to eat.
Following I'o, we drove to Wailea to spend some time at the beach, stopping first at a public beach area and then going to one of the hotels to walk around a more secluded beach.
