Animal Kingdom

Sunday found us waking up bright and early to a Baymax wake-up call on our way to a 7AM early entry at the Animal Kingdom. Unlike yesterday, today's breakfast would be Pop-Tarts and protein bars in our hotel room instead of Mickey waffles. We arrived early and after a short wait, we took off for Asia and a walk-on at Expedition Everest. We rode Everest three times before the lines built and then Janie and Rebecca rode it a fourth time before we went for a walk-on at Dinosaur. Rebecca hates this ride and probably had her eyes closed the whole time. We also took a whirl through Primevial Whirl, a mad-mouse type roller coaster.

We had a late FastPass for the Kilimanjaro Safaris but instead decided to see if we could walk-on early. The wait was 20 minutes but it probably took us around 10 to get to the front of the line so we did an early morning animal safari. That set us up for the 10AM showing of the Festival of the Lion King, so we saw through that, which is always a good show. The new theatre seems bigger but there weren't any significant changes to the actual show. We were getting hungry so we headed to Pizzafari and split a couple of pizzas for lunch before heading back to Africa and Asia for walks through the Forest trail and the Asia trail so Rebecca could get her 'kitty' fix looking at the magnificent tigers.

With time to kill before our FastPass for Everest, we went to the bird show, which was funny and something we didn't usually go to on our trips. Then we rode Everest with our FastPass, took another Primeval Whirl and another run through Countdown to...Dinosaur. If we hadn't booked a 2:30 FastPass for Finding Nemo, we probably would have left then. We did a little shopping, but AK doesn't have many shops, so we found Rebecca a Mickey ice cream bar, grabbed some sodas and sat down waiting for Nemo.
