We had early entry to Disneyland where we took a couple of rides through Space Mountain to start off, followed by Buzz Lightyear and Star Tours. We only rode Star Tours once due to it being the boring movies from the most recent movie instead of the randomized version introduced a few years ago.
Lunch was booked at Storyteller's Cafe and we decided to head over to the hotel early as it was getting very hot. J. R. found a couple of seats in the lobby and saw they were serving drinks, so we each had an alcoholic beverage and watched Mickey and his friends come through. It was funny to see Mickey Mouse with no one around him as either people had already visited with him or didn't notice he was there. J. R. was telling Janie about the new hotel being built in part of Downtown Disney and pulled up his phone to find more information. As he was reading some of the information to Janie, he noticed someone reading over his shoulder and looked up and saw it was Chip. We 'talked' to him for awhile and then it was time for lunch. Lunch was good, although J. R. wasn't hungry and only had some chowder, but it was very delicious.
After lunch, we decided to take a break and go back to the hotel to avoid some of the heat. We watched part of the Lion King on TV and repacked some of our luggage from our college tours before going back to California Adventure. Our first stop at CA was the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride. The ride was very similar to the old Tower of Terror and made J. R. just as sick as the old ride did. Then it was off to Pixar Pier for the Incredicoaster. We finished the night with an outdoor dinner at the Trattoria where we had a decent view of the Paint the Night parade as it went by, which was an unexpected way to cap off the day.
