Goofy's Kitchen
We booked a character breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel, one of our favorite places to eat. We teased Alex with a photo of the peanut butter and jelly pizza, his favorite, as we checked in. Being there first thing meant the restaurant was fairly empty, which meant a lot of time with the characters. Unfortunately our experience was dampened by a small child from another table who kept running over to our table every time she saw a character to try to interact with them. The characters were trying to push her away back to her table. Finally when J. R. told her 'go back to your table, it's our turn', a character must have said something to a manager because she came out and spoke to the parents. It didn't stop the child, but the next time the parent came running over to scoop her up before she got to our table. (And it wasn't like our tables were adjacent -- we were on the other side of the restaurant all by ourselves.) Once that was sorted out, we were able to spend a lot of time with the characters. Chip decided to abscond with Janie when J. R. told him she liked him. He took Janie outside the restaurant for a walk. He also had a dance-off with Dale to prove who was the better dancer.
Disneyland
We started our last Disney day at Disneyland so Rebecca could enjoy her favorites, like Space Mountain. We rode the monorail to the park and J. R. bought the FastPass system for all three of us to maximize our time. We rode Space a few times, then Star Tours and Buzz Lightyear. We were happy to see Star Tours was randomized this time as we were tired of the scenes from the most recent movie. We also rode Big Thunder and the Haunted Mansion and Janie and Rebecca took a ride through Splash Mountain. Unfortunately, Pirates broke down and Rebecca was unable to ride it on this trip.
California Adventure Again
We hopped back over to California Adventure where Janie and Rebecca took another run through Guardians. Then we rode the Incredicoaster again and Rebecca took a ride on the water ride, getting soaked, which she decided was a good end of her day. We went back to the car and changed clothes and headed to the airport for our flight home.
