Extra Magic Hours

Today was Alex and Bethany's last day with us, so we wanted to take full advantage of it by going to Extra Magic Hours at the Magic Kingdom. That meant an early morning bus and security check. Several of the party wanted to ride Mine Train while others wanted Space Mountain and the Space Mountain group won out. So after a quick stop for a donut, we stood in line for a Space run. Then we shot a few aliens at Buzz Lightyear before going to Fantasyland. We hit the highlights of Fantasyland -- Teacups, Pooh and It's a Small World before Alex decided he needed one of the big cinnamon rolls from Gaston's. After that, it was time for our Mine Train Fast Pass, a trip through the Haunted Mansion. We split up for lunch at Tomorrowland Terrace and Cosmic Ray's before meeting up for another run at Space Mountain.

Resort Hopping and Kona

We all decided to split up after that. Rebecca and Thomas wanted to ride Splash Mountain. Bethany and Alex needed to head back to the hotel and pack. J. R. and Janie decided to get a drink. So the adults went to Grand Floridian to get an adult beverage. Janie got a martini and J. R. ordered a Lagavulin, but they were out. The bartender tried to get him to try Knob Creek, an American bourbon, which she said was similar. He decided she didn't know anything about whiskey and just had a glass of water. After that, we took a boat ride to the Polynesian where we walked around the lagoon for a little while and then waited for dinner at Kona Cafe.

The rest of the gang joined us for dinner, which was only okay. The pork was overcooked and they had virtually nothing on the menu for Bethany, who is allergic to milk and peanuts. They served her fruit and cold non-dairy chocolate syrup for dessert, claming they didn't have a microwave to heat it. We guessed they never heard of a double boiler or sauce pan. We had to stop at the TTC to take our usual picture of the kids in front of Mickey Mouse, something we started on our first visit with Alex.

Fireworks

At the Magic Kingdom, we waited in line for Big Thunder Mountain again and then the kids went off to Splash Mountain while Janie and J. R. found a spot outside the "Hall of Trump" to watch the fireworks.

Last Night at the MK

After fireworks, we visited Pirates one more time. Alex and Bethany had an early Magic Express pickup and rest of us were going to Extra Magic Hours at the Animal Kingdom, so we called it a night.
