We said farewell to Alex and Bethany as they headed to her home in Houston and caught an early bus to the Animal Kingdom, again winding our way through the queue for Flight of Passage. We nearly left Rebecca behind when her restraint would not release her. We stood in line for the Na'vi river ride and it was boring and unspectacular. Leftover boats from the Mexico ride and more luminous foliage and odd animals. We went looking for breakfast but nothing was open so we rode Expedition Everest and Dinosaur! again.
Having done everything we wanted to do at AK, we elected to leave. Rebecca was meeting a friend she had made on the Disney Wonder in Alaska at Epcot so she caught a bus for that park and we decided to head back to Caribbean Beach for the breakfast buffet, since it was a quick-service meal and we had credits to spend. The bus back to CB took an incredibly long time to leave the AK, partially due to the half-marathon and partially because they waited for enough Epcot resort guests to fill it. The buffet was more of the same, but it was cheap.
After breakfast, we waited around for a bus to Epcot that seemed to never be coming. There were a lot of people waiting and a guest in an ECV, so we took the first bus that arrived to the Magic Kingdom, then transferred ot the Epcot monorail. This meant going through bag check twice for some reason, even though there is no way to access the Epcot monorail without going through bag check at the MK, the TTC or a resort hotel. The bag check line was extra long and extra thorough. The lines for Soarin' were reasonable so we rode that. Janie was in the mood for one of those peanut butter and jelly cupcakes so we stopped at Seasons, where Rebecca joined us after having been hanging out with her friend in the DVC lounge. We walked over to Living Seas and rode the ride and spent some time looking at the dolphins and the fish. We rode the Green side of Mission: Space for the first time and enjoyed it about as much as the Orange side. We also did the single rider line for Test Track.
Getting hungry, we meandered through the UK and France before settling on spltting some brats from Germany, which were just okay. Rebecca and J. R. used a couple more QS credits on some Chinese food (in China, believe it or not), and it was good, about on par with Panda Express. We toured a few more countries, picked up a few snacks at Mouse Gear and did one last ride on Spaceship Earth before calling it a night with a 4:40 pickup for the airport looming the next day.
At the hotel, we decided to try the dinner buffet. Rebecca and Janie weren't hungry but they had some fruit and pastries while J. R. and Thomas sampled the food. It was fairly good, and Thomas provided entertainment by shooting chicken nuggets across the room trying to cut his steak. J. R. went to burn our last snack credits at the little shop in Martinique and the CM there allowed him to turn the last three QS meal credits into nine snack credits so he returned to the room with a bag of goodies. Thomas snagged some for his plane trip and the rest would serve as snacks for us.
