On Monday morning, we left the hotel to drive to Austin. We found another Shipley's along the way for some donuts and another kolache for Janie and arrived at the University of Texas at Austin about an hour before our planned visit. We checked in and walked down to the co-op before returning for our campus tour. The tour was fine, although Becca was not really impressed with the campus. The information session afterwards was very poor and we should have just skipped it.
The highlight of the day was Terry Black's BBQ in Austin, where we had what was definitely our best meal of the week. The ribs were meaty and moist and the brisket was tender. After lunch, Janie and Becca enjoyed some gelato at a place Becca had seen on the Food Network. After a short walk on the river front, we drove to Round Rock and did some shopping at the outlet mall. Dinner was at a seafood place called Salt Traders Coastal Cooking, which was very good.
