Morning on the Reflection

The ladies slept in while J. R. went up for breakfast and some time relaxing in the Enchanted Garden. He ran into Rebecca relaxing in the Solarium and the hot tub and then met up with Janie for a drink. The Celebrity Connections party was this morning but we had still not received the invite. We went down anyway and showed our email. Cruise director Giuseppe overheard us comment that we were not getting deliveries to our room and pulled up our account and addressed us by another name and we explained to him that was the problem -- Celebrity had not updated the room information. He said he would look into it. The connections party was not that great, mainly due to the setup of Cellar Masters. People were already sitting when we arrived and talking and it was hard to mingle. We sat down next to another couple though and had a good conversation with them.

Janie and J. R. considered joining the ballroom dance class but it had started early so instead they went up for lunch in the Oceanview Cafe. After lunch, Janie and J. R. went down to the Grand Foyer for the Latin line dancing, which was then moved up to the pool deck. But there were too many people and it was impossible to see the moves so they gave up and went to the pool bar for another drink.

We began playing a game called "art or furniture" with some of the artwork spread around the ship like the log with chair backs attached or the silver star in the strange hallway between the grand foyer and the Ensemble Lounge. The plan was to attend 60s music trivia in the Sky Lounge but when we got there, there was no sign of the trivia. We found out they had moved it to the Ensemble Lounge but did not update the Celebrity App. By the time we made it downstairs, the trivia had started so we decided to go have another drink.

Elysium

The show tonight was called "Elysium". The program described it as "In the land of Elysium, a fairy tale unfolds between the forces of good and evil, as the Kingdom is threatened. The struggle for rightful rulers to regain control is a journey of self-discovery." None of us really understood the plot, as it needed some introduction or dialog, but the singing, dancing and acrobats were exceptional. We especially liked the use of modern music (as in music from this decade) unlike Royal Caribbean's overuse of 60s and 70s music.

Dinner in Opus Dining Room

After the show, we met our serving team of Christo, Allan and sommelier Natasha for the first time. The first night was a little rocky, especially in beverage service, but they improved rapidly and became some of our favorite servers of all time.

Drinks and Late Night Comedy

Following dinner and a few more drinks, we attended the late night comedy of Anthony Scott, slipping Becca into the 18+ show. He was funny, but we thought he was crude just for the sake of it, dropping in 'f words' when he really didn't need them. His funniest bits were ones were he wasn't being blue but instead doing situational humor that had us laughing hysterically.
