Morning at Sea

J. R. got up early and had breakfast and then headed to the Thermal Spa to make use of the sauna and the heated loungers for awhile before returning to the room and getting Janie up for their morning activities.

Captain's Club Reception

First order of the day was the Captain's Club reception where Cruise Director Kate and Captain Tasos spoke for a bit as we had strawberry champagne cocktails and appetizers. One of the Eden acrobats came out and performed a short routine and the Island Rhythms band played some music.

Pizza Making Class

We had scheduled a pizza making class so we remained in Eden to sit for a little while and then met Chef Emanual in the restaurant. He talked to us about the history of pizza as we enjoyed an Aperol Spritz. He told us how he made the dough and showed us how to make the sauce using just tomatoes. We rolled our own dough and ladled the cheese and then put on our toppings for the staff to make. It was a really good experience until the end when J. R. was served a spicy chicken pizza instead of the pepperoni pizza he had created.

Songbook

Pianist Tom McCormick did an afternoon show of Elton John hits in the Club. He was very good, especially since he did not try to pretend to be Elton, but rather played and sang the music. He said he would be performing other piano shows in Eden but we never saw another one in the daily planner.

Afternoon on the Ascent

We went to the Martini Bar for afternoon trivia, including Musical Bingo and General Knowledge. The latter one was very difficult but someone a group on deck 4 in the back corner managed a perfect score, which was probably easy since they were on their phone the whole time.

Captain Tasos

The Captain made an appearance in the theater prior to the evening production show. He was very funny as he introduced his executive committee.

Bridges

The first production show, Bridges, was tonight, and it was very good as usual with the Celebrity singers and dancers putting on a great show. Our only complaint was the shows were moved to 7:30 and 9:30 on Ascent which meant we had to rush out of the show to get to our planned 8:30 dinner.

Shimmerbox

After dinner we went to Eden and saw the Eden production cast in Shimmerbox. It was another great show although Eden is not a great venue since sightlines are poor due to the posts and there is no raised seating. This was the only Eden show we saw this week as there is limited seating so you have to get their early.
