Day At Sea

We had our first of two days at sea as we made our way back to Florida so we had a chance to explore more of the ship in the morning.

Backstage Tour

Our experience with the Captain's Club was not great on this cruise. We signed up for all of the Elite events the first day and then learned when we showed up for an event they had rescheduled that we were not on the list. Guest Services was unhelpful and the Concierge didn't seem to care either. So we showed up anyway for the backstage tour and no one checked off the list. A dancer named Tom, the two acrobats, and the theater manager talked to us for awhile and then took us behind the screen and into the dressing rooms while answering questions from us and the other guests.

Wine

The backstage tour ran long as Tom liked to talk so we had to rush to make the Captain's Club wine tasting. We were seated with another woman and then two others were directed to our table and snootily said they wanted to sit by ourselves. Our tablemate decided that meant more wine for us so we also helped ourselves to the three other poured wine sets at our table.

Martini Masterclass

J. R. decided late to sign up for the Martini Masterclass, which was different than the usual martini mixology. Putu from the martini bar walked us through the creation of three different cocktails and even created a special one for each of us.

Martini Show

We had a chance to catch our wonderful flair bartenders put on their martini show as we sat at the martini bar. The bartenders, especially Putu, were wonderful on this cruise.

Rebel

We arrived late for the evening show and tried to sit on deck 5 but they had most of it reserved for Retreat and Priority so we went down to deck 4 and sat near the front on the side. We didn't have high expectations for "Rebel", but it turned out to be a great show as the three men, who used to be theater singers, did a Broadway number and then a variety of rock music.

Raw on Five and Shine The Night

We swapped out our dining reservation for Raw on Five and had some good sushi before going upstairs to the Shine The Night party, which was a disappointment. Rather than a dance party, it was an opportunity for cruise director Kate to show off her dancing in front of us with some of the production cast. It was far too crowded to actually dance ourselves so we left early and went back to the martini bar.
