Following our first game, we traveled to a different Edmonton Mall to grab some lunch as a team at a food court. Janie and I had subs while Rebecca dined at A&W, which was a very popular chain in Edmonton. The mall was on the way to an Edmonton LRT station, which is where we parked to catch the train to Edmonton Commonwealth Stadium to see a quarterfinal game between Japan and Australia. The weather was extremely hot and humid so we spent only a little amount of time in the Fan Zone (which was very underwhelming anyway) and then spent some time under the stands to stay cool. Rebecca hooked up with Sarah and Ashley and headed back to the Fan Zone and then made it back to our seats for the game. It was so hot that by halftime, we walked to the other side of the stadium where there were seats in the shade. Japan won the game with just minutes to spare, which was lucky for us, since we had to get back on the train and head to our next tournament game, so we had no time for overtime and penalty kicks.
Our final tournament game was against our Red Deer Renegade hosts. Luckily they had been outside in the heat with us at the Women's World Cup game so we all had the same fatigue. Our team held up well against them early on but fell apart late in the final period and lost by two goals.
