Drumheller

With the tournament over, it was time to do some sightseeing. We checked out of the Travelodge dump as we were going to spend the night in Red Deer. We piled into the car and drove down to Drumheller for the day to visit the Royal Tyrrell Musuem. The Drumheller area is noted for the number of prehistoric fossils found and the museum has a wide range of fossils, dinosaurs and other mammals found both in the area and throughout the world.

Badlands and Sleepover

After the museum, we walked along the Canadian badlands trail behind the museum for a little short hike. We drove back from Drumheller following our GPS directions, which sent us on a short ferry ride, which was interesting. We arrived in Red Deer late afternoon and checked into our hotel for the night. Our Raiders team was being hosted by the Red Deer team for a sleepover at a local elementary school, so we drove up to the school for a potluck dinner with our hosts, and then left Rebecca for the night and returned to our hotel.
