Lake Louise

While in the U.S.A., it was Independence Day, it was just another day in Canada. Today we drove to Lake Louise, taking the backroads along the way. After parking down the hill, we walked up the Fairmont Hotel where we stopped for a light lunch.

Hiking to the Lake Agnes Tea House

Then we started our day hike to the Lake Agnes Tea House. This was a 3.4 km walk with a 385 meter elevation past Mirror Lake. It took us quite a while to trudge up the switchbacks where we stopped for some cold water and light snacks at the tea house before making the much easier hike back down. After Lake Louise, we ended our Canadian park experience with a long drive back to Red Deer, where we were staying the night. We would drive back to Edmonton in the morning for our flight home to Chicago.
