We checked out of the dump for the last time and started our long drive across Canada Hwy 16 for Jasper National Park. We stopped at Boston's for lunch before entering the park and then started driving down through the park towards Banff. We drove into Maligne Canyon and stopped in the town of Jasper before driving on Athabasca Falls. Our final stop was at the Icefields Center. We considered taking the tour out to the ice field but it was really expensive for a short trip. It was getting late and we were tired, so we drove through Banff NP without stopping to arrive at the town of Banff. We were booked into the Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa for the next few nights. We were expecting a little more from this hotel but it was dated and had no air-conditioning. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, which had a limited menu, including being out of several of the cuts of steak they touted.
