Morning On The Magic

Our first full day on the Magic was Christmas Eve, a day we would spend cruising the seas on our way to Tortola. J. R. was up early and headed up to Cabana's, the buffet for breakfast and a quick walk around deck 4. Thomas and Rebecca were heading up for breakfast when he came back and Janie awoke to get some breakfast of her own.

Gingerbread Houses

The first thing on the agenda today as making a gingerbread house. We went to Carioca's at 10 AM where we found our gingerbread house kit laid out for us. The ship's pastry chef led us through the steps of building our house and then we got to decorate it. He finished off by showering out house with powdered sugar.

Mrs. Claus and Cooking

Rebecca took the gingerbread house down to the room and then we stopped to hear Mrs. Claus tell stories in the atrium to all of the little kids before stopping in for the "Anyone Can Cook" presentation. The meal was Lobster Ravioli and the head chef showed us how he made them with wonton wrappers. We enjoyed the appetizer and a glass of wine.

Brunch

J. R., Janie and Thomas had brunch planned for Palo at 11:30 so Rebecca went off to go swimming and have lunch at Cabanas. Brunch was wonderful as always with far too much food, including a Nutella lava cake that made Rebecca jealous. We snuck out some chocolate covered strawberries for Rebecca and delivered them to the room for her.

Afternoon Relaxing and Evening Show

The plan today was for relaxation so Rebecca spent the day at the pools, Thomas went to hang out with the 18-20 year olds and Janie and J. R. went to the Rainforest Room for some sauna time and relaxing in the hot rock chairs. Rebecca went to the Walt Disney Theater to watch the premiere of Rogue One. J. R. and Janie finished up in the Rainforest Room and there was another showing of Rogue One in the Buena Vista Theater, so they headed there and got a the last few seats up front. After the movie we changed for dinner. It was formal night, so we put on the fancy dresses and suits and ties and went to the Captain's Welcome Reception in the atrium, where they were handing out free drinks. The show tonight was "Twice Charmed", which is a retelling of the Cinderella story. We'd seen it before but they changed it up a little bit so it was still enjoyable.

Dinner

Rich Purpura was doing a family variety show so we all headed down there to watch him perform. Most of his act was the same as the last time we had seen him, but it still was a good way to kill some time. There was another Captain's Reception before dinner with more free drinks, so we grabbed a few more of those and then walked to Carioca's for dinner.

Night on the Magic

J. R. was tired after not sleeping much the night before. Janie had talked to our room stewardess in the morning and she had contacted maintenance who came and worked on the murphy bed and it didn't seem to be rattling any longer. Janie wasn't tired so she went to go see Doctor Strange in the movie theater.
