Our next-to-last full day on the Magic would be spent out to sea. Janie and Rebecca had spa appointments for the morning, so they went off to the spa while J. R. had breakfast and took a walk. Our first activity of the morning was the "Anyone Can Cook" Scallops and Risotto presentation, which was our second scallop demo of the cruise. Rebecca and Janie opted for lunch in Lumiere's, but J. R. wasn't thrilled by the menu, so he went to Cabanas for lunch. Thomas had lunch with the 1820 Society in Lumiere's as well. After lunch, we went to O'Gills for Movie Quotes trivia. We did okay at this, getting about 20 out of 25 right. The club host was a real jerk about one of the questions, where he tried to claim a quote was from Richard Harris in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The whole crowd knew the quote was from Sorcerer's Stone (and that Richard Harris died before Prisoner of Azkaban so it couldn't be from him). The guy told us this was "Disney official trivia" and he was correct and we should take it up with Guest Services. There was really no need for him to be rude about it, but that was his general attitude the whole cruise.
After trivia, it was time for J. R. and Janie to attend their first of three planned tastings for the day, which was Mixology. We met up with the Coffeys, a couple from Baltimore we had met during the chocolate and liquor tasting and sat with them while we learned to make cocktails. We didn't think to write down any of the drinks and were disappointed they didn't provide any kind of recipes because after a few cocktails, we all forgot what we were drinking After mixology, we had two hours until our next tasting, which was Tequila and Margaritas. Janie had talked the Coffeys into joining us for that one as well, so we sat with them again and got even drunker. We rocked our way out of there and went to the Rainforest Room to relax and unwind.
Janie hung out in the Rainforest Room a little longer and took a shower, while J. R. took a walk along deck four.
The adults had rescheduled Palo from the last night to tonight, which meant Thomas and Rebecca were on their own. They went together to see Buckets and Boards and said it was very good. Then they hung out together and went to the dining room for lobster and steak night while the parents enjoyed some fine dining in Palo.
J. R. and Janie caught the last part of the second Buckets and Boards show. But the day of imbibing wasn't over for Janie and J. R. as they still had rum tasting scheduled for 10:30 in the Cove Cafe. Having sufficiently sobered up from the earlier two tastings, we made our way to deck 9. There was only one other couple in this tasting, a pair from Wyoming, which meant we had a lot of time to talk with each other while imbibing on Rumchata, Kraken and Bacardi. The other couple had also done a couple of tastings so we had an opportunity to exchange notes on what we had learned.
