South Tampa and Lakewood Ranch
Our first stop for 15 February was the Lakewood Ranch area. We stopped at Another Broken Egg Cafe for breakfast. We had eaten at one of their locations in Tuscaloosa and they didn't disappoint here either. We then drove by Del Webb Lakewood Ranch, which was not on our list. J. R. pulled up the prices and we decided it was out of our price range. We had an appointment at Taylor Morrison's Esplanade at Lakewood Ranch so we headed there next. We toured the community and the amenities and really liked it, but the prices were very high and there were outrageous lot premiums and a bidding process that would only drive them higher.
Medley
Following the disappointment of Lakewood Ranch, we drove to Lennar's Medley at Southshore Bay. This was a 55+ community. We felt it was okay but it did not really impress us.
Valencia Del Sol
Our final stop was the 55+ Valencia Del Sol by GL Homes. We had high hopes for this one based on what we saw online but were disappointed by both the community and the houses we saw. All in all, a disappointing day of house hunting.
Ford's Garage
Janie made reservations at "Ford's Garage" for dinner, although she kept calling it "Fred's Garage". Dinner was a little disappointing as they had neither of the first two beers on their draft beer list but the food was good.
