Costa Maya

Another day "at sea"

We were supposed to be in Grand Cayman today, which we had been looking forward to since we had not been there for a long time. But they were not yet accepting cruise ships, so we were rerouted to Costa Maya. This is a port we were supposed to visit on our March 2020 Disney Cruise that was cancelled. Janie and Becca had planned to swim with dolphins then but since Becca was not on this cruise with us, Janie didn't want do to that alone. We opted just to stay on the ship and make it another 'sea day'. We skipped out on most activities and just hung out on the Magic Carpet and in the Solarium.

Relaxing in Eden

When it got hot on deck, we went down to Eden so Janie could check out the hanging chairs she had just spotted earlier in the week. We sat there for awhile and looked out the window and sipped on our drinks.

We stopped by the Future Cruise desk and discussed changing our Galapagos trip to the Flora. The representative was able to transfer our reservation over and maintain all of our credits and perks and the increased cost for the Flora veranda suite was worth it to us, so we made the change to the larger ship. We think this will provide us more variety on excursions as well as the ability to skip an excursion if it doesn't suit us.

Showtime and Dinner

Our evening entertainment was "Crystallize", another show we had seen in October. Even after the second time seeing it, we still don't understand what is going on, but it is a fantastic show with great special effects and the aerialists in particular are superb.

Dinner tonight was in Tuscan and it was lobster night and Celebrity did not disappoint. Our servers were great and said "I'll bring you two lobsters" without us even asking. They only came out with one for Janie because the server said he thought the second one was "too small" and then brought her out another one shortly after.

The early mornings and late nights were starting to take their toll so we slowed down with a drink at the bar and turned in early because we planned to shut the ship down on our last day tomorrow.
