Our first full day on the Beyond was a day at sea so we started it off with breakfast in Blu and then some time in the Thermal Suite before going to Eden to hang out for a bit.
As Elite members, we were invited to a Backstage Tour of the theater with two of the singers and dancers who answered our questions and then showed us around the backstage areas.
After lunch, we explored the ship some more. We had been on the Apex twice, which is a sister ship, so the layout was familiar, but Celebrity had made some changes, especially to the Martini Bar area and all of the artwork. We prefer 'bubble boy' on the Apex better than the hanging chrome balls on this ship on the way to Blu/Eden.
One of the differences between Apex and Beyond is the addition of the World Class Bar, a Diageo-branded concept we first experienced on the Eclipse. That is where our Mixology class would be hosted today. We had stopped by the day before and found the bartender to be a bit standoffish, but as the class progressed and the week went on, this bar became one of our favorite bartender teams on the ship. We made three drinks, each of which was very tasty.
We mixed things up tonight and went to dinner early at Blu and the difference was night and day in service with a different waitstaff. Dinner was excellent and then we headed for the show. The show tonight was called Arte and featured the production cast. It was the typical Celebrity experience of incredible singing and dancing in a show that made no sense.
