We had scheduled a bus tour of Aruba for the day which started off driving around some of the island while our guide talked about life in Aruba.
Our first stop was Arikok National Park where the Natural Bridge had once stood. It had been a natural arch of coral limestone, but it collapsed in 2005 after a hurricane. We were able to see the remains of the bridge as well as a smaller natural bridge that still stands.
Our next stop was the ruins of the Bushiribana Gold Smelting Plant. It had been built in 1872 to process gold-bearing ore.
The California Lighthouse is the tallest structure on the island and derives its name from the British steamship, S.S. California, which sank in 1891. The accident led to construction of the lighthouse to prevent similar tragedies.
Our final stop was the Coco Loco Beach Club, a gorgeous stretch of beach on Aruba, which was much better than the beach on Grand Cayman. We found some good seats under the shade and enjoyed several hours of beach time.
After an exhausting day, it was nice to go relax in the Thermal Suite again.
The evening show was Elements with the production cast of singers, dancers and aerialists. We enjoyed it immensely.
We finished off the night with an excellent dinner in Eden with fantastic service and great food.
