Sushi Making

We started off our morning with breakfast in the buffet and hanging out in the Solarium. J. R. and Becca had a sushi making class which was supposed to be at 11 AM but was moved to 9:30 AM. The notice for the change was tucked inside the envelope with our shore excursion tickets, which we had not looked at since we had a day at sea. J. R. decided to check them in the morning since we had issues on previous cruises with tickets missing and luckily saw the notice. We headed down to Sushi on Five for the demonstration. It was a little disappointing because instead of demonstrating first and then letting us do it, the chef has us follow along with him, but it was hard to understand and see what he was doing. Rebecca was particularly upset because her roll fell apart and a chef came and took it away and made her a new one, but she wanted to eat the one she had made, even it was messy. He let other guests try again on their own but not her for some reason. We made a shrimp tempura and avocado roll as well as some nigiri.

Wine and Food Pairing

Janie attended the captain's Secrets of Ships Navigation talk and the Jewels of the Cyclades presentation while J. R. and Becca were eating sushi. The ladies had a wine and food paring booked so J. R. headed to the bar while they learned the right foods to eat with the right wines.

Day on the Infinity

Rebecca spent some quality time in the pool in the afternoon while J. R. and Janie had a few drinks and lounged after a few busy days in Athens. J. R. aced the "Divas Through The Decades" trivia because it was focused more on 70s-90s female singers. Tonight's headlineer was Leslie McDonel with a Legendary Women of Rock show. To our surprise, she actually sang songs from recent history, including Adele and Stevie Nicks. So many of these shows focus on 'divas' but play the same Whitney/Aretha songs. Dinner service lagged today so we skipped the 10PM magic show and headed for a nightcap. Our steward decided to solve the bed issue by not bothering to fold it back in during the days, making a small room even smaller and preventing us from enjoying the porthole. We thought of complaining but did not want a repeat of the first night where she did not bother to open it.
