After several days of excursions, it was nice to have a relaxing morning at sea. We headed up to the Solarium where the ladies enjoyed the pools and the hot tubs and J. R. did some reading.
We went back and forth on attending the Captain's Club Elite Wine Tasting since we didn't enjoy it much on our last cruise but we decided to go anyway for the free wine. We had a good conversation with the people at our table and enjoyed the wines.
At her food and wine pairing, Janie signed us up for Celebrity's Blentique wine seminar. This turned out to be very disappointing. We were supposed to share one kit among four people working together to blend a variety of wines. Instead we were at a table of seven people sharing one kit so there was not enough equipment or wine to make all of the blends and the instructions we gave were extremely poor. The whole thing was a large waste of money.
After lunch in the buffet and hanging out on deck, we headed down to our Mixology class in the Martini Bar. This was also a disappointment after previous versions on other cruises. First, the bar was open at the time of the class, even though it was not supposed to be, so we had to listen to the cackling of another guest while we were trying to listen using earphones that barely worked. Also, this meant other guests got to hear the recipies and explanations of the drinks that we had paid to receive. The bartender also chose to show us how to make the drinks and then come in fours behind the bar to make them rather than make them as we went, which meant a lot of sitting around and waiting.
J. R. had offered Becca his free Elite scoop of gelato so she went to get it and was surprised to be offered a huge scoop of gelato in a waffle cone. She enjoyed that with a martini. The band from the other night was doing a second show so we opted for live music in Cellar Masters and then headed to dinner in main dining.
