Following Bunratty, we hopped in the Opel to drive out to the Cliffs of Moher. We found the parking lot and then walked down to the Visitor's Center to watch the introductory movie and look at the exhibits. Then it was time to walk out to the Cliffs. Rebecca scared Janie a few times by venturing too close to the cliff edge to take pictures (although it really wasn't that close) as we walked along the cliff line. Rebecca and Alex headed up to the tower to look out over the Aran Islands. It was quite a hike to the tower but we all walked up that way and the views were spectacular.
We were getting hungry, so J. R. took advantage of the free Wi-Fi at the Visitor's Center to look for local restaurants. He found a place called The Stonecutter's Kitchen just up the road with good reviews so we drove up there. The restaurant lived up to its reviews as the fish and chips were very good.
Following lunch, we drove to Galway and the Victoria Hotel. Parking for the hotel was several blocks away so we unloaded the luggage and then Janie and Alex parked the car while we checked in. The hotel was a little dated (as the neon 'vacancy' sign outside should have warned us) but it was good enough for one night. We walked into town for some shopping and stopped at Cactus Jack's, a Mexican restaurant, for dinner. It was average Mexican, but a good change of pace from pub food.
