Alnwick Castle
After a night in our Edinburgh hotel, we awoke with the plan of adding another country to our itinerary, England. We drove along the coast of Scotland to Alnwick Castle. Alnwick is a manor home in Northumberland built originally in 1096 and is the home of the Duke of Northumberland. Exterior and interior shots were used as for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films as well as used in Downton Abbey.
Alnwick Gardens
We continued our tour of British / Irish gardens with a quick walk-through of the gardens of Alnwick. Rebecca enjoyed taking photos of all the flowers.
