Saturday found us at Animal Kingdom, as we were following the 'day-after-early-entry plan'. The idea of this is, that if you are an off-site guest, go to the Disney park that had early entry the day previous. The thinking being, of course, that most on-site guests will skip that park the next morning if they had gone early entry to it the previous day. On top of that, you are entering the park at the same time as other guests and don't have to worry about FastPasses being taken already by the early entry guests.
The strategy seemed to work as we were able to get FastPasses for Expedition Everest as well as get in the queue and ride it as a walk-on. Then we returned using our FastPasses for a second ride. Following EE, we did a quick run through Countdown to Ex-Dinosaur and then headed back to take a Safari ride.
Lunch was a scheduled seating at the Yak and Yeti, the new restaurant in the Animal Kingdom. We were less than impressed, but maybe it was because it was hot and the restaurants more-open style didn't really cool us off enough. The Asian-inspired menu felt like a rich-man's PF Chang's as opposed to some of the better restaurants at Disney.
