Cinderella's Castle

Friday was a hectic hustle day for us as we were checking out of the Marriott and moving to Port Orleans for two nights, we had breakfast reservations and the Castle in the Magic Kingdom and we needed to return the rental car to the airport. So we arose early and handled our checkout and drove over to Port Orleans to drop off our luggage. As it turned out, they had a room ready for us, so the porter took our stuff to our room and we headed over to the Magic Kingdom where Janie, J. R. and Rebecca had a 9AM breakfast with Cinderella while the boys were heading for a buffet at Crystal Palace.

After Cindy and some rides, we met back up with the boys with intent to go to Epcot on the monorail for a few final rides there, stopping first for our traditional 'the kids are getting bigger' pictures with the Mickey silhouettes at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Epcot

Once at Epcot, we did one last ride on Snoring over California and the Living Seas as well as a run through Test Track and Mission Space. Janie had to leave to return the rental car so we split up with her heading off to the airport and us returning to the hotel to swim. Alas, the weather did not cooperate as it began to thunder, so we ended up hanging out in the hotel before sprinting through the rain to lunch.

Rain and Cirque and MK

Returning the rental car ended up taking Janie a lot longer than expected and we would soon regret the decision to return it. Tonight was our night to see Cirque du Soleil, which we had not seen in a long time. The rain let up for a little while, but starting coming down hard as we were on the boat to Downtown Disney and the skies opened up on us as we trudged through puddles to the Cirque du Soleil tent. We ended up with soaking wet shoes and socks for the show, but once the show started, we settled in and enjoyed ourselves with the kids saying the show was one of the highlights of the trip.

Following the show, we caught a Disney bus to the Contemporary, where we hopped on the monorail for Extra Magic Night at the Magic Kingdom. The park was open until 2AM and made it until almost 1AM, riding the mountains and Buzz Lightyear and some of our other favorite rides.
