Star Tours

After another breakfast in our hotel, we headed for Disney Studios on Sunday. First up was Toy Story Movie Mania, the new E-ticket attraction at the former Disney-MGM studios. J. R. went and picked up Fastpasses while Janie and the kids waited in the long line, which let us do one quick run through the ride, then a quick buzz over to the revamped Star Wars before coming back later for another Toy Story turn.

A few years ago at Disney, Thomas had misheard that the Star Tours ride would be going to Hoth instead of the usual missed trip to Endor. It had become a running family joke that maybe 'this time we will go to Hoth'. Well, now, on the revamped ride, it is possible to go to a number of Star Wars destinations, Hoth included. We were hopeful, but alas, we ended up at Couracant and the Death Star.

Fantasmic!

We rode Rock N' Roller Coaster and the family did Tower of Terror without J. R. and a few other rides before lunch, which was at the Brown Derby, which is another one of our favorite WDW restaurants. We had arranged the Fantasmic package, where you get lunch at the restaurant and special seating for the Fantasmic show, which allows you not to have to wait in line so long for the show. After lunch, the boys went off on their own for awhile and Janie, J. R. and Rebecca did some of the more leisurely, air-conditioned rides and shows. As Fantasmic time neared, thunder and lightning appeared in the vicinity and we thought our well-planned day was about to come to disappointment. We had not seen Fantasmic on our last visit and were looking forward to it. After several delays and a few boxes of popcorn, however, the skies cleared and the show went on as planned.
