July 1 saw the end of our Florida vacation and the beginning of our trip back home. We woke early to our last Mickey Mouse wake-up call and packed the rest of our belongings. As we waited to go down to breakfast, we were 'greeted' by a call from Jonathan at Guest Services, who said he had something for us. When he arrived a few minutes later, he had our missing suitcase, which he said had been brought down by a guest earlier that morning. We complained loudly again about Disney's poor job of 'searching' the ship and now leaving us with a bag that we could not check in and had to carry to the airport. It was quite a let down on our last morning and we chose to just skip breakfast and leave the ship.
It was quite a long line getting off the ship but we eventually keyed off the ship and went to retrieve our one lone bag. We walked past where all of the luggage going to the airport was being stored, and since we had a spare airport luggage tag, Janie asked if the person handling the baggage would take the last bag to the airport as well since it was checked in. Luckily, he agreed, saving us one problem.
We cleared customs and caught a bus to the airport. Upon arrival, we learned our flight was already an hour late due to late arriving aircraft, so we stopped for Chick-Fil-A at the airport food court and then cleared security and went to the Red Carpet Club. Rebecca headed to the kids area while the rest of us found seats. We were forced to move an hour later when an obnoxious child and his clueless mother sat near us. The kid was screaming and bouncing on the seats while mom cluelessly sat by. After an evil glare, we packed up and moved to the other side of the room to get away from them.
Following lunch at the airport Ruby Tuesday's, we boarded our plane and headed home. Our luggage arrived on time, we loaded into the limo and ended our vacation tired but happy.
