Catamaran

Our excursion today was the "Destination Highlight: Safari-style Bus and Catamaran Sail". We met on the pier and had to wait a long time, first for two missing guests and then for a missing boat, as well as waiting to board the boat when it arrived as there was only one dock. But soon we were on our way listening to music and enjoying the scenery as we passed along the coast. We sailed out to the Pitons, which we had wanted to see on our first trip here many years ago but could not. Then we moored near a small beach where Janie went for a swim before having rum punch on our way back as the crew entertained us and we got to know some of our fellow cruisers.

Bus Tour

We boarded our 'safari-style' bus at Marigot Bay and buckled in for a rough ride around the island. Our first stop was at an agrotourism roadside shop which wasn't much but provided a $1 bathroom break. Then we headed to Anse la Raye to walk along the beach but this was really just another stop designed to let locals hawk their wares, which seemed to be all the same despite many booths. Then we rambled through the countryside with our bus driver, who was a bit odd, stopping periodically to pick local fruits from the trees along the roadside to share with us.

On the Ascent

Once back on the ship, we went upstairs to Mast Grill for a burger and hot dog, when visited Maelynn in the Martini Bar and Anush in Craft Social. We saw a pretty sunset as we were sailing out after spending a little time in the Solarium. We again skipped the evening show in favor of hanging out on the ship at the bars talking to people.
