Caribbean Brewing Company

On our last visit to St. Maarten, we did a wine tasting at Dutch Blonde Beach Bar and the owner, Sunil, told us the story of how he had started the first brewery on the island including how he had trademarked "St. Maarten's Official Beer". So we arranged this time to go to his brewery. We joined a group of other couples in a van to the brewery and were a little concerned when we arrived at the small building with the locked metal door. But once inside, we got to see the brewing equipment and went upstairs where the bartender told Sunil's story with his own personal Caribbean flair, which made it hilarious. We sampled all four of their beers, starting with the original Dutch Blonde Ale, then the San Martin Premium, the Pirate's Edition and finally the 1863 Stout, all of which were very good.

Another couple asked if they could be dropped off at the port entrance, and having been to Dutch Blonde Beach before, we decided to end our tour at the port as well.

Afternoon on Ascent

We needed some food after four beers so we went up on deck for a bite to eat before going to Music and Mixology where Maelynn did her flair demonstration while mixing three cocktails, which were different than ones we had previously at this event.

Fine Cut

After spending some time in the bars, we finished off our evening with dinner in Fine Cut Steakhouse. We started off with their fresh baked rolls, which were fantastic and then dove into a steak for J. R., which was cooked perfectly and a lamb loin for Janie. (The menu said lamb chop but the waitress made special effort to make sure we knew it was a lamb loin. We guessed this was another supply issue as the ship was having issue not having draft beers and ciders and was running out of some spirits). The lamb loin was good and we finished off the night with a brownie and a sundae.
