Our second of five consecutive sea days started off as usual with breakfast, some time in the Solarium, a pool drink and then trivia.
Janie left progressive trivia a little early to save us seats for the Captain's Club wine tasting in Moonlight Sonata, the first and only time we were in the main dining restaurant on an 18-day voyage. The Cellar Master, Star, kicked off the event and walked us through sampling four wines.
After wine tasting we headed to the buffet for lunch then spent some time out on deck before dropping into the martini bar for a few drinks before dinner.
The show tonight was Ashley Amber, a former American Idol contestant who was doing a show focused on Whitney Houston. Not being a Whitney fan, we decided to stay at the martini bar and then went for an early dinner in Blu instead of going to the show. The dinner menu was sparse tonight in terms of items that jumped out at us, but the Risotto was well cooked as was the Turkey Paillard Salad.
We had requested our complimentary bottle of sparkling wine be delivered around 1PM but when we had gone to our room after lunch, it was not there, which was disappointing. Our room steward said he 'would delivery it later'. We saw it when we returned to change for dinner, so we decided after dinner to return to the room and watch the sunset and stars from our balcony.
Janie was tired after half a bottle of sparkling wine so she changed for bed while J. R. headed upstairs for the Equator Crossing Party. He picked up a glow stick from Mona and talked with a few people he had met at trivia until Divas 3 came on stage. Continuing the trend, the party didn't really start until 10:15 because "we have to wait for the people from the 9:00 show". After a little dancing, he returned to the room and it was lights out.
