We had another relaxing day at sea with morning trivia and progressive trivia for J. R. while Janie attended the Oceans Ahead: Secrets of Ships Navigation with Staff Captain Tassoa. This was one J. R. would have been interested in and another example of Celebrity putting too many things on at the same time and then having lulls at other parts of the day, particularly in the early afternoon. We had lunch in the buffet and enjoyed the nice weather outside. We headed to our room after lunch to watch the Kentucky Derby live and enjoy the weather from our balcony.
James Cielen performed a special close-up magic show at 2PM, which we decided to attend. We felt this show was even better than the first one with a lot less obvious slight of hand.
Tonight's show was an interesting one, featuring David Meyer, who plays a xylosynth, which is basically a huge xylophone merged with a synthesizer. He played some interesting new age music as well as classical hit music with the orchestra. We wondered for awhile who "Dawn" was since there was only one guy on the stage but eventually Dave's wife Dawn, a dancer came out on stage and performed a few routines with light sticks and glowing wings.
Blu continued to impress us tonight with both of us opting for the Filet Mignon, which was cooked perfectly.
We had missed Fred Bevill's comedy show earlier in the week and after seeing him tonight, we were not disappointed. He spent most of the first part of the show picking on a few couples in the first row and he was not very funny. We ended up walking out and going to get a drink in Ensemble and listen to Anthony play guitar.
