After the last two weeks in Japan, it was nice to be able to kick back and relax today at sea. We spent some time in the morning in the Solarium after breakfast and explored the ship some more. Janie attended the Beyond The Podium: Kagoshima Where Volcanos Meet The Sea talk with Suzanne while J. R. got a drink at Cafe al Bacio.
Instead of the buffet for lunch, we decided to go to Sushi on Five for some more Japanese food as well as some of our favorite specialty dining drinks.
We had booked Mixology 101 and the Martini Masterclass on this ship on different days and were not happy they had rescheduled so they were back-to-back on the same day. When we went to check in for Martini Masterclass, Janie asked them to change one or the other and the ship excursion desk was able to move the Mixology to later in the week. We went up to the Martini Bar where Yopi guided us through making three cocktails. They were the same ones we had made on other ships and don't understand why Celebrity doesn't let their talented bartenders add a cocktail of their own. At least this time, they had changed the Masterclass back to letting us make our own drinks. On our previous cruise, the bartender made them for us. We hung out at the bar after the class where J. R. had a chocolate martini handcrafted by Yopi.
The evening show was Boogie Wonderland. This is not one of our favorite Celebrity shows since we are not fans of disco, but the singers and dancers were top-notch as always and it made for a fun night. We had to hustle out again to make it to dinner where we were seated in the far back corner of the restaurant at our new table. Our dining team of Nyo, Isaac and Komang were very attentive. The drink service was poor. The sommelier Natha ignored us, serving the table next to us and walking away, so we had to order directly from Nyo. Sadly, her service did not improve during the week.
We are not fans of the 80s game show despite loving 80s music and with dancing out of the question on this cruise, we went to Rendezvous to have a drink with our favorite bartenders Zin and Christian. These guys, along with Celilio and Wilfredo were fantastic all week and made our cruise special.
