After our day in Taipei, we enjoyed another relaxing day at sea with a morning in the Solarium. Janie attended the Beyond The Podium: From The Fragrant Harbour to High Tech Hong Kong lecture. Then it was time for our free Seafood Brunch at Tuscan Grille. J. R. had a glass of 15-year Blandy's Madieira wine from Portugal, one of Rebecca's favorites from her time there while Janie had our old favorite Rose Regale. We began with a Lobster Bisque, followed by Boddingtons Beer Battered Fish & Chips before our Premium Seafood Platter arrived filled with broiled lobster, shrimp, mussels and clams. Lunch finished off with a warm chocolate chip cookie and vanilla ice cream. Definitely one of the best meals of our cruise.
We spent our afternoon doing some trivia and hanging out at the Martini Bar. It was there we heard the Captain's announcement that due to a typhoon that would be hitting Da Nang on 07 November, the day we planned to arrive, we would not be making it to that port and instead would be spending an extra night in Hong Kong. This was disappointing but understandable given the weather conditions. We were not happy that Shore Excursions would only offer three excursions on the extra day, two of which went to the same locations we had planned for the second day. They also would not let us move our excursion from day 2 to 3 to take advantage of the full extra day.
The evening show was Elysium, which we had seen our first Celebrity cruise on Reflection in 2019. It is billed as a fairy tale between the forces of good and evil, but like most Celebrity shows, the plot is very loose. But it is an entertaining show well done by the production cast.
We returned to main dining for our dinner where Janie enjoyed Cherries Jubilee.
